How do I import a sitemap CSV into Ahrefs or Semrush?
Neither Ahrefs nor Semrush import a CSV directly — they pull URL lists. The flow is: convert the sitemap to a one-URL-per-line TXT file (use xmlsitemapmaker.com's TXT export), then paste into Ahrefs Site Audit → 'Custom URLs' or Semrush Site Audit → 'Custom URL list'. Both tools cap manual lists around 10,000–20,000 URLs depending on plan. For larger sets, host the sitemap publicly and point Ahrefs/Semrush at the sitemap URL itself — both crawlers follow sitemap-index files natively. CSV import is more useful for analytics tools that need structured columns (lastmod for content-decay analysis, source for sitemap coverage breakdown).
